Thanks, Coach!

On behalf of YoMama and one half of the Wannabefits (Cindy), we want to thank "Coach T" for his support at the Saito Gym these last sessions. Although, posting the picture from last night, not so much! :-)

It has been a good incentive for us all and appreciate the support. We are one session away from meeting our goal, and with the "challenge" posed by Coach Mike, we MAY at least do an extra session (possibly two) with the extra week until "weigh in" date. (We were hoping we could carry over the extra sessions into next month's goal but Coach T is tough, he just shook his head...no words, just shook his head...but thanks Cindy, for trying!)

Keep up the good work everyone (you go Steph!) and look forward to hearing that everyone has reached (and perhaps exceeded) their goals for this past month!

I started jogging again, after a 6 month lapse. 3x in 8 days is a record for me. Jogging 2 to 2.5 miles.

Monday Maniac Workout with the Saitos Et Al

We just finished a great workout--Ab Ripper X with the Girls, after they did Core Synergistics from P90X.  Wendell and I did dumbell and band chest workout out on the Patio Gym.  Thanks again Wannabefits!

Friday Nite Workout at the Saito Gym

Happy Easter, Everyone!  How's everybody doing out there?  Remember, post  your updates on this blog to let us know how  you are progressing...and to give us all inspiration!

Speaking of inspiration, the Trifecta Ladies (Cindy, Michele, and Terri) invited me over for another one of their sessions at the Saito Gym on Friday evening.  This time we did "the firm" dvd (killer on the hips guys!), and ended with some ab work from Tony (P90X) Horton.  Fun all around....and i heard they did it again on Saturday afternoon....you go girls!  You are truly inspirational!

Next time, I'll try to get Wendell to take an action photo while they're not looking! :-)

Tuesday Evening at the Saito Gym!

Aloha, All!  I know a lot of us are super busy this week with the Iolani Fair, but just wanted to thank the Wannabefits (Cindy and Wendell) for inviting me to the Saito Gym on Tuesday evening.  Yomama, PinkFitnessGal, Cindy, Wendell (yes, Sarge, too!) and I did the hour "Core Synergistics" workout from P90X AND (cause the girls weren't done yet) the "Ab Ripper" DVD from Tony Horton also.  Man, these girls are intense!  Love it!  Maybe we'll schedule more fun, group workouts like this in the future.  It sure is easier to keep on going when everyone else in the room is "bringing it" the entire time.

Hope everyone is doing well! Don't work too hard at the Fair, spend lots of money, and remember:  Go Hard, End Strong!

May Goals Please

Hey, gang!  Just a reminder to email or text me your May Goals so I can post asap.  I have quite a few, but not everyones yet.  And don't forget DaPodageeFitnessDude's challenge to us all---add another lb(or mile or workout) to your goal since the first Saturday in May is almost 5 weeks away vs the normal 4 week period. 

Along that line, I will state my goal as maintenance of my 170lb weight, but to add a fitness goal of completing my Poola Street run/walk climb in 21 minutes vs the normal 22 minutes (bottom of the hill to my doorstep).  And if anyone wants to join me for a training session, I normally attempt this on Sunday mornings or weekday eves are good too (a lot cooler that's for sure!).  LMK...

Cindy has done it again!  She has recruited Terri Hanaoka, fellow Iolani parent and jogging partner, into our eager group.  And these two plus Michele have formed their own little workout mini-group.  This trifecta has committed to complete 12 Full Body One-Hour workouts (The Firm tape series) by May 6th.  Their commitment is reaffirmed at $100 each for this terrific goal!

Great idea, ladies!  I think da boys might have to have a few joint workout sessions in the future too....I hear John's workout area calling!

Extra Time...

Aloha Everyone!

I believe, according to the fine print bylaws of HO40F, we all have an extra 6 days in May.

PakeDude correct me if I'm wrong...May 1 is a Sunday and aren't we weighing in on the first Saturday of each month? If this is the case I'd like to lay down a friendly challenge...
BLOW YOUR MAY GOAL OUT OF THE WATER!
Don't sit back and think, "Oh good, I have 5 weeks instead of 4. I can cruise this month."
Think, "I'll hit my May goal by May 1, then drop at least another pound in that last week!"
(No penalty if you don't do the extra pound...)

My real May goal = 215 lbs
My extra week goal = 214 lbs

Thank you all for inspiring me not only to lose it, but to keep it off too!

as the pakefitness dude said i am trying out the cross training thing at hardass fitness. hope i can last there all of the young folks are in pretty good shape compared to this old guy.

BTW, we allow up to 0.9 on your weight goal....so long that verifying photo shows us the main digits were achieved.

Also, some have sent in their next month's goal, some have not.  Please verify what your May goal is by emailing or texting me.  And remember, you set your own monthly goal every month....sometimes it may be to maintain your current weight, or fitness level because you hit your long term goal already, or you overachieved this month, and want to rest one month--then get back to lower lb goal the following month.  So long you at least maintain the weight loss you have already achieved.

After I receive the confirmed May Goals, I will post them for all to see.

Again, you all provide such great inspiration to me....I hope you all are enjoying this and benefitting from it as much as I am.  You all are so GREAT!

Welcome Another New Member! TIm O'Leary

Welcome our newest member, Tim O'Leary, another Proud Iolani Spouse and Parent!  He will be the "HapaFitnessDude".....Here's his Goals:
1.  Weight:  Starting at 249lbs....goal to lose 3lbs each month with long term goal of 213lbs! May Goal then=246lbs, and
2.  Fitness Goal: Workout at Outrigger 3X/week and at Hardass 2X/week.

According to DaPake, sounds like a bunch of you were hitting your goals this morning! Congratulations!

I was worried myself after dinner at Zippy's with Terrence last night! Although we both had the `ono grilled garlic salmon, no rice, sub in tossed greens, it was rather late in the evening. My weigh-in at 10:30PM was 222.3. It was a nice surprise to see 219.6 this morning after only sleeping! Then I played basketball for a couple of hours and hit the 216.8 you see here...

May Day Goal = 215 lbs.

ONE MORE DAY!

Aloha Fit People!

PakeDude has been diligent with this blog, so I feel the pressure to post something...
I tell you that guy is ON it!

Big day tomorrow! I had already hit my goal last Saturday (216.8), but the week is long and temptations are all around...I'm glad for these monthly weigh-ins, because past history tells me I would be on the weight loss roller coaster...on the way up...

Good luck everyone! Last chances today and tomorrow to hit that goal!
